28 April: While enjoying downtown Phoenix, I received a dreaded phone call from my Mother, that would temporarily side-track this epic journey. My Father's health had taken a serious turn for the worse. This evening I would disassemble my bike and ship it via Fed Ex to Denver, and I would purchase an airline ticket (also to Denver), where I would fly tomorrow (29 April). Sadly, my Father died on May 4th. Many thanks to Tracy and Jen for your wonderful hospitality.
